The El Medio Firefighters Union, IAFF Local 4424, is an organization that presently consists of 9 members dedicated to the protection
of lives and property. The El Medio Fire Protection District is a small area located on the City of Oroville's southern border.
Our members, working one fire station, protect approximately 7,000 people within 2.5 square miles. Local 4424 is an affiliate of the
International Association of Fire Fighters. The IAFF represents 280,000 fire fighters throughout North America.
The El Medio Fire Department works a 48/96 schedule (2 days on duty, 4 days off), in a 3 Shift system.
